It’s Mazinger Z from Shin Mazinger Shougeki! Z Hen.

In the near future, a mineral known as “Japanium” is discovered under Mt. Fuji. This ore is discovered to produce a powerful energy source known as “Photon Energy”. Dr. Juzo Kabuto and his associates have begun researching Photon Energy, planning to use it as a solution to the energy crisis plaguing the earth, when the nefarious Dr. Hell and his associate, Baron Ashura attack his lab. Along with this, the mysterious “Kurogane House” also has begun to become entwined with the affairs of these two parties. During all of this, Juzo’s grandchildren, Kouji and Shiro, encounter one of Baron Ashura’s robots on its way to attack Dr. Kabuto’s mansion, where he has begun work on his greatest invention. Dr. Kabuto, seeing the danger at hand, sends out the Pilder to Kouji, allowing him to combine with the giant robot, Mazinger Z, to fight against Dr. Hell’s forces.

Recently, I’ve seen a lot of gift shops selling Domo-kun plushies and merchandises. Ah, it must be the Domo-kun hype now. (’ w ‘) You even get to see a lot of images online with Domo-kun in it, especially made famous by the one with the kitten running in front of 2 Domo-kun(s). (^_^)”’ Haa~

Domo-kun’s story

Domo-kun, the main character, is a strange brown creature that hatched from an egg. He has a large, saw-toothed mouth that is always open, always looks like he is roaring or something like that. ;) Although he doesn’t really roar, he usually speaks with a low deep voice and only two syllabus “doomoo”. He likes to watch TV, eat Japanese-style meat and potato stew but has a strong dislike for apples.

Domo-kun lives with Mr. Usajii (a grandfatherly rabbit) in an underground cave, along with two bat neighbours, Shinobu and Morio. There’s also Domo-kun’s friends who lives around his neighbourhood:
Ta-chan - a girl weasel who likes fashion and technology,
Kogumagoro also known as Kuma no ko - a timid bear cub,
Hanaichi and Hanaji - 2 flowers,
Anikichi, Esuko and Konjiro - 3 fox brothers,
Harapekoguma - a big bear who is always hungry,
Hyutarou - a ghost.

My Revoltech Gloomy Bear is here, and with that here’s a tribute wallpaper for Gloomy Bear lovers everywhere.

I love cute and adorable things, but somehow Gloomy Bear managed to attract my “cute-radar”. I can’t say why, but there is something cute and lovable about this naughty and bloody grizzly bear. Maybe because Gloomy is pink? Or I’ve just discovered that I have a fetish for violent things? Sounds scary doesn’t it?

What is a Gloomy Bear?

Gloomy Bear is a 2m tall, violent, yet cute-looking pink bear that loves to eats and beats up humans. He is often shown with blood stains on his claws and mouth. Gloomy Bear also comes in many different colored versions too - like black, purple, white, etc.

Gloomy Bear is the genius creation of Japanese graphic designer Mori Chack. I really like his art works, especially his Podolly, a sheep in a wolf skin. Check out more of his works here and be in awe of his art works. :)

The story of Gloomy Bear

As a little bear Gloomy was abandoned, until he was rescued by Pitty (the little boy). When Gloomy was younger, he was cute and all cuddly. But as he grew older, he becomes more wild and violent, even towards his owner. Thus he is always seen biting and attacking Pitty, with blood splattering all over the place and on Gloomy himself.
